I have these options to select pages Pages x of x <x y z etc however, I start scanning out about page 11 or so, I must disconnect for unrelated reasons, come back and only 3 pages are available. Is there any way to return to what would have been about page 10?

Well, it is a bit of a hack, but the page button just appends a parameter to the url string.
In this case (and going to page 2), I see &page=2 at the end of the url.
So go to your thread.
Click on your URL address bar
Add the text &page=10 or whatever page you want.
Hit the “Go” button or <ENTER> or whatever.

You can also change your settings so that there aren’t so many pages. Click on “User CP” on the top menubar on the page. Then select “Edit Options” from the menu on the left side. Then scroll down a bit to the “Thread Display Options” and change “Number of Posts to Show Per Page.”
I have mine set to “Show 200 Posts Per Page.” The default is 50. That means–assuming you haven’t changed it–a thread with 1,000 posts shows up as 20 pages to you, but only 5 pages to me.
