Pain meds timing

Disclaimer: I know I need to talk to doc, he is out of office for next three days.

I’m taking norco 3xdaily or every six hours for extremely painful sciatica. I have an appt with surgeon in 5 days.

If I take the norco at 6/12/6 I am completely bedridden till about 1pm. I’ve missed work because of this.

Yesterday I had to go to work no excuse. I took one pill at 6am, another at 730 along with the other meds I’m on. That got me off the floor and able to get to work albeit slowly. I took third pill at 6 as usual.

I have no gastro issues with it, do you think this is ok for the next five days just till the surgeon can see me and get things moving?

Basically you are following the doctors orders other than talking the second pill at 7:30 instead of 12? That doesn’t strike me as very dangerous. IANAD of course.

Fuck.

This day has sucked. It apparent to me now that the norco is just not helping like it was. I thought on Friday that I had exacerbated my leg pain somehow but I think it’s just the meds having less of an effect.

Perhaps a course of steroids like prednisone could help. Contact your doctor and ask.

Are you going from 7:30 a.m. all the way until six p.m. between your second and third doses? If so, that may be relevant to your loss of pain control. Just speculating.
