Pam Bondi is Out

Per CNN Politics

President Donald Trump has fired Pam Bondi as attorney general.

She will be replaced for now by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who will serve as acting attorney general, Trump said.

The president wrote on Truth Social that Bondi would be “transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector,” praising her for her work in his administration and offering no specific reason for why she would be leaving.

Just posted this news in the Epstein - Trump impeachment thread. I’m wondering what effect the firing could have on the subpoena issued by the House Oversight Committee.

according to reuters:

  • Bondi faced criticism over handling of Epstein files and DOJ independence
  • Trump frustrated by Bondi’s pace prosecuting critics, appoints Todd Blanche as interim AG
  • Bondi accused of removing prosecutors, mishandling Epstein records, faces House subpoena

state bars could start ethic investigations putting her license in jeopardy.

As answered to your same question in a different thread: Congressional Democrats are saying, “she is still expected to testify.”

I doubt she is going to go on to anywhere that requires her to use her law degree.

Is her new job on a farm upstate?

I hear it’s nice.

Trump FIRES Pam Bondi after tumultuous year of Epstein files fumbles and MAGA anger after White House showdown… as her replacement is named | Daily Mail Online

according to daily mail:
Trump’s reasoning for the sudden dismissal comes in part because the President believes Bondi tipped off Eric Swalwell about the FBI’s efforts to release investigative documents related to his relationship with an alleged Chinese spy.

also:

Reports have circulated that he is considering tapping MAGA-aligned EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin as her replacement.

There are many possible reasons but I can’t help but believe that the main reason is that when he points to somebody and says “I want them in jail” he doesn’t wanna hear excuses like “There’s no probable cause” or “The grand jury won’t indict” or “It’s unconstitutional.” As bad as Pam is I’m afraid the next one will be worse. If Trump has a choice he’s always going to go with more obsequious. It’s his favorite trait in a toady.

She will be on a hill, overlooking a little river, with pine cones all around.

And she will have lots of new friends to play with!

This firing has been rumoured for weeks. I wonder if Trump is now rethinking his strategy of appointing female Cabinet members who look like models and seem to have unswerving loyalty to him, but have no actual skills whatsoever? Naah!

In her case I hope she has an iron clad pardon not okayed by Alina Habba ! I look forward to her testimony before congress now that she is not busy running the department of obstructing justice !

Here’s hoping that Trump doesn’t have her “Epsteined” prior to her testimony.
If such testimony ever actually occurs.

This thread becomes more Pit-like by the minute. Not helped by the fact that the OP, @anny_m, posted just a link about an event and neglected to set forth any framework for discussion.

If the thread continues as it has gone so far, it will be locked and reopened in the Pit on request of the OP.

Maybe he realized she’s 60 years old.
