DC Bar: Urgent Message For Members

That is the title of the video below. I am not sure how many lawyers we have here who belong to the DC Bar but, if you are one of them, please watch the short (4 minute) video below.

The fight against Trump and his enablers needs to start somewhere and this seems as good as any. It might be of general interest to many here even if they are not members of the DC Bar Association.

I should add…this is about upcoming elections in the DC Bar and the Trumper Brad Bondi is running to lead the DC Bar. This would (IMO and LegalEagle’s opinion) be a bad thing if he won.

LegalEagle recommends Diane Seltzer FWIW.

Of course, vote (if you can vote) as you see fit.

I watched that just a few minutes ago.
LegalEagle Johnson is right!

I just wanted to add that I have watched the entire short video, and it’s passionate but not strident IMHO, and while it touches on Trump’s actions, those aren’t the point of the video, just serve to explain why it is so important. The focus is on how this specific Trump enabler in this specific position (if elected) would further damage any hope of independent investigation and censure of illegal actions taken by lawyers friendly to the Trump administration.

Just for those who are tired of seeing Trump’s face and voice as an inevitable consequence of challenging his actions.

I didn’t know him, so I had to verify: Yes, US Attorney General Pam Bondi is a relative – his sister.

EDIT: Thanks for the corrections.

Sister

Wife or sister.

All the more reason he should not be allowed within miles of that job.

Oddly, if you Google “Brad Bondi spouse”, the first link that pops up is a WJLA.com link, the preview of which reads:

Brad Bondi, a lawyer and the husband of President Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi , is one of two candidates hoping to lead the D.C. Bar …

When you click on the link, the actual WJLA article shows that Brad and Pam Bondi are siblings. Weird.

“She’s my sister! She’s my wife! She’s my sister and my wife!”

(Apologies to Robert Towne.)

Bumped with an update: he lost.

Thank you for the update, and per the reporting from the link, there was massive turnout

More than 38,000 people voted in the race, more than five times as many voters in a typical election, he said.

And Bondi’s statements (which I will not quote or read again) were very ironic in their complaints about how everyone was making this partisan and political. Given the legitimate inquiries on how the DOJ seems to have been strongly favoring clients of his, and the people/entities his firm has chosen to defend…

Well, best I can say is nothing is proven yet. But I wouldn’t be throwing stones…
