I’ve already made an appointment to see my doctor, I’m just digging for additional information in while I wait til Thursday to see her. (ie, not seeking medical advice)
I have a hard time with dentists. I had an inexperienced dental tech slip when I was a child and rip the entire inside of my cheek open with one of their scrapper tools so I’m always tense. Yesterday however was something else.
The freezing hurt when going in - I think he was in a bit of a hurry and just got a little ahead of the numbing gel. I cried a little, just a couple tears, but while we were waiting for the freezing to kick in I started again and couldn’t stop. They started working and there was no pain, the freezing was working but I couldn’t stop crying and my hands and feet started shaking. They stopped working while I tried to regain control but it took almost an hour and an oxygen mask before we could continue. All in all, seemed like a panic attack except…
When they checked my blood pressure the third time to decide if we could take off the oxygen I asked if it had come down to normal. The hygenist checked the readings and told me it was actually coming UP to normal - it had dropped fairly low (I don’t remember the numbers, I wasn’t really on top of things yet) but she seemed fairly concerned so I googled when I got home and the only references I found to panic attacks and blood pressure were offering options for keeping it from getting too high - nothing about it dropping.
So the bottom line question is - has anyone ever heard of panic attacks lowering blood pressure or any similar type of situation that could cause blood pressure to drop?
