I’ve been experimenting with my camera lately and have produced several panoramic shots. However, the standard on-line places to have prints developed do not print panoramic shots.
I found a place or two that do it, but I would prefer some recommendations from people who have done this before. Has anyone here had any experience in printing panoramic shots? Any advice for a newbie?
This is a standard digital camera, not an oddball film camera. It’s available at almost any camera or electronics store. (In my case, it’s the Canon S3 IS)
It seems that any place would be able to print the image, they just might need to do a letterbox format with blank space above and below the image. Do you mean that they won’t print out the exact size of the image?
I’ve used Mpix a few times (although not for panoramics). They’ve got a slew of different paper sizes, including 5x15.
Could you maybe use an image editing program like photoshop to combine two or more images so you could print them together on some of the different paper sizes?
I took my panorama to a local shop on a Compact Flash card and had them print it. It is a shot of the British Parliament building from across the Thames. The final print will be 8x36. They had to cut off about 6 inches from one end because their paper was only 3 feet long.
What did you use to stitch the picture together? I used The Panorama Factory which was pretty easy to learn and did a very nice job.
