I was in the US a month ago and tried to order some Penzey’s. Their website does NOT like non-US credit cards, alas, even if the delivery address is US. Next time I’ll ask a family member to order them in advance and pay them back. Le sigh.

I was recently introduced to ajika, a spicy paste commonly used in Georgian and Abkhazian cuisine. It’s great on roast chicken, roast vegetables, bread, pasta, and plenty of other foods. (We always serve it as a condiment; I don’t know if you can actually cook with it.) If there’s no Georgian grocer near you, then Russian or Ukrainian grocers will usually have it.
