My daughter and I need input on finding a legitimate, ethical, source for obtaining a
DNA test to confirm, beyond any doubt, our conviction that we are, indeed, biologically related.
There have been a number of recent reports of scams in this area and I’m unsure how
to avoid the unethical testing labs. Anyone have any specific recommendations, or
tips or finding the right facility?
I would consider asking your regular Doctor is he has a recommendation, Contact your local police or Family Court and see if they can recommend a reliable lab that they use or you might be able to check with the Better Business Bureau but this last seems unlikely.
Again Good Luck,
Jim
If there is a university medical school in your area, you might try their genetics lab.
I immediately thought of a university or other teaching hospital.
Though I imagine any lab could take the sample and send it out for analysis.
I wouldn’t necessarily trust a court lab- they are notoriously lax on substance (drug/alcohol) testing.
