Parental status under a candidate's name

And here is how it appears on the actual, physical ballot (just arrived):

Khanna is the incumbent and gets a “United States Congressman”. Chen is just an Educator/Entrepreneur. Sorta vague sounding. The statement can’t “mislead” the voter, but am I an entrepreneur if I ran a lemonade stand when I was 9?

If that was the last time you did anything that represented work, maybe?

I’m not sure if that’s a good metric. If I’ve started several genuine businesses in my lifetime, but took on ordinary career jobs in between selling them off, then it’s probably fair to say I’m an entrepreneur. More of an ongoing vocation rather than a specific job description. But it should probably still be above some kind of threshold…

I mean, when Gallagher ran for governor in 2003 he listed his occupation as “comedian”, which was definitely misleading, as he hadn’t been funny for years at that point.

They were supposed to have left in the quote marks for “Comedian”!

I saw a PBS program about an election on a Native American reservation where ballots in that region were printed in 3 languages - English, Spanish, and the main tribal language, which also used a different alphabet. On top of it, the ballots also had pictures of all the candidates because the area had a high rate of illiteracy.
