Parents! It's the "why my kid is special" bragging thread!

My kid practices cello in his Spongebob underpants.

Which isn’t strange in and of itself…except that the “kid” is 38 years old.

…d&r…

Several years ago, we had a major ice storm that knocked out the power in the whole town for about a week. Fortunately for us, we’re avid campers, so had a stove, burner, and a couple of lanterns, all of which ran on propane. Paid a quick visit to the store and bought a case of propane and the boys (At the time, I was taking care of my nephews while their father was away in the Navy, and including my son, there were four boys, aged 7, 8, 9, and 10.) and I were all set to weather whatever came up. The second day of the power outage, we were listening to the radio and the announcer was advising everyone who didn’t have gas heat, or who was elderly, to go to one of the emergency shelters set up throughout town. Just minutes after this, the boys all went into the other room, and came back a couple minutes later asking if I’d make some soup. While I was making soup, unbeknownst to me, they were <gasp> cleaning their room. After I was done with the soup, I found out that they didn’t want it for themselves, they wanted it for “Tall Paul,” an elderly man who lived two houses over. They’d heard the announcer on the radio telling people to go to shelters and had grown worried about Paul and were going to invite him over to stay with us. I hadn’t even thought about the poor guy at all, but they’d actually gone so far as to prepare a bed for him. We all went over, en masse, to invite him over, but it turned out he’d gone to his daughter’s house. It really made me stop and think what good kids they were that they were so concerned over Paul.

I’ve got lots more stories, of course, but this is the one that really makes me proud.
