Next reaction - are they someone with substance. Whatever that may mean.
Next reaction - are they someone I can get along with (we’ve already established they are someone my kid can get along with). Honestly, my girl child has a creative side, but she seems to satisfy that with all of her gay-guy friends. Her choices of partners have all been kinda authoritarian security professional/military/cop types. Now, I was a theatre kid myself, so these types just don’t often resonate with ME, sigh. I know, I’m not the one dating them - but I would like to be able to have a conversation with them.
