April is looking really attractive lately.
Decent episode. It wasn’t about the campaign. I don’t like April acting so nice lately.
“I think I can help you with that” WHAM!
Who’s the guy with the stash, Jim? “Okay, I really do want that.” Hilarious!
“This music sounds like it’s from the end of a movie where a monk kills himself.”
“It is.”
The snow globe museum!
Tom: Does anyone know if Ann has a little Indian in her?
Everyone: Don’t answer him!
Tom: I’m just asking, does she have a little Indian in her?
Everyone: Don’t say anything? Ignore him!
Tom: Does she have a little Indian in her?
Jerry: I don’t think she does.
Tom: Would she like one?!
Everyone: Augghhh! Jerry!
Ooop, sorry, that’s Ron.
I loved the little cameo by comedian and Parks & Rec writer Harris Wittels as “Harris the Phish Phan.” Funny because in real life Wittels is a huge Phish fan and has a podcast called “Analyze Phish” where he tries to get podcast host/writer Scott Aukerman to like the band (to no avail yet).
“So tell Ann about yourself.”
“Where do I start? Well, I’m a juggler…”
“No. Stop. You shouldn’t have started there.”
“Not as beautiful as my sister, but you know the law.”
I loved this episode. Depressed Chris as the DJ was hilarious. I loved Ben telling Leslie how he could figure out the puzzle confidently then cutting to him shaking it angrily. Also great was Ron’s delight regarding the riddles, and then at the end asking Leslie to do that for his birthday.
The only thing I had an issue with was that Leslie doesn’t seem like someone who would call a friend “a beautiful spinster” or think she needs to be set up since I would think Leslie would be very much about how men can be great but not necessary for a woman’s happiness. But I guess it was Valentine’s Day and Leslie knew that Ann was feeling lonely.
Even though I knew Tom would be the person she was meeting, I love the way he said something to make her immediately be repulsed. Lesser sitcoms would have extanded that story arc at the cost of them acting out of character.
And that’s what makes this show (sometimes) great. They break the mold when they get the chance, going for pure comedy.
Maybe she’s pregnant and borrowing the baby’s soul.
I liked how Ron got so into the search for clues, despite his protests about how he didn’t like them, even to the point where he flat out asked Leslie to do one for him. That had to be hard for him to admit.
I am confused on how Chris suddenly stopped being so mopey, and why he started playing upbeat music. Yeah, he got a talking to, but that didn’t seem particularly effective, so it seemed like he only cheered up as a misdirect for who Ann was meeting.
