Party Quirks II: Electric Boogaloo

Daphne, I have to confess - I thought you got me, until you forgot that some paparazzi are freelance, not actually working for a specific publication.
My quirk was that I was a paparazzi trying to get dirt on you, and the other two hosts.

I dunno. I was grasping at straws. I searched your posts and couldn’t decide if it had anything to do with how you were introducing your posts or something (I noticed a lot of sort of ‘Well,’ and stuff and was suffering from a bit of tunnel vision I guess). I noticed you seemed to be doing the conversational gambit of repeating what the person before you had said, but I wasn’t clear how it was working (since, like, it wasn’t…)

Note: I haven’t yet read the forbidden thread

Gah! I knew it! I thought you were being a bit mean to me

Dagnabbit. I had you, and let you slip through my grasp.

[/drama]

Here’s a hint for mine.

Er…psychopath, knight, salmon.

My big clue for you–only clue for you, I’m not good at guessing this kind of stuff–was when you chose me for the gnome to be behind.

Of course, by that point in the game, the likelihood of the hosts figuring out all the remaining guests was slim to none.

err, and here’s a helpful smiley for Daphne :smack:

My quirk was, I was a psychologist. I thought people would guess it in pretty short order… maybe I was too obscure in my posts?

You actually picked up on an artifact of my normal writing.

My quirk was that every post I made had to include at least one foreign word that had entered English untouched (taco, kimono, croissant, and so forth).

The disallowed post was disallowed because I tried to convince Twick that since the traditional meaning of"post", “a type of stake,” came directly from French, it should be legal, but she wasn’t having any of it.

When my quirk was the first one guessed in the guest thread, I thought I was sunk. Once I got going, though, I think I got progressively more obscure (until even Twickster once had to ask me what one of my posts meant). Near the end, I started giving out a few more clues.

Daniel

Mea Culpa! Two things! I forgot to say,

“Ah ha! Have we won now?”

AND, twickster did remember to send me the list of quirks; my hotmail filter got it.

By the way, Kat, you are so clever! Not only with the “gnome-be-gone” bit, hee hee! But especially with the whole gnome hiding behind Eureka thing!! I never would have caught it if she hadn’t pointed it out. You must have gotten a good chuckle out of that one!

Here is twicks’s list:

HOSTS:
DaphneBlack
Oredigger77
Santo Rugger

GUESTS:
Antinor01 – Bette Davis films
Dolores Reborn – wants to be Obama’s veep
Drain Bead – monosyllabic
Elendil’s Heir (Rysto) – shrink
Justin Credible – colors
Kat – silent letters
Left Hand of Dorkness – SDMB cliches
Omi no Kami – foreign words (at least one word picked up in English exactly as spelled in its language of origin)
OtakuLoki – tabloid reporter (I’d originally said he was looking for a story on the hosts, but that seems to have gone by the way)

Guessed:
Autolycus – Munchausen syndrome
Brujaja – anagrams
Eureka – smileys
Fachverwirrt (MadTheSwine) – Scrabble
Inner Stickler – alpha order
Revenant Threshold – Great Debates
Tdn – musical genres
Wargamer – questions (what game?)

Yeah, I thought for sure someone would get mine when the only two-syllable word I used was in my “lie” that I was very good at this game.

I didn’t think I’d be able to pull off my quirk, but the late great Ms Davis had some fun film titles. My personal favorite post was managing to get “Now, Voyager” slipped into one with correct punctuation. I had been wanting to use “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane” since the beginning and didn’t think I would manage but the 2 truths and a lie gave me the perfect opportunity.

What does she mean that fell by the wayside?

I’ve got Oredigger77, admitting to having an unlicensed surgery here.

I managed to get all sorts of twistable quotes from Daphne.

And I have evidence to link all the hosts to the Illuminati.
Sounds like a fun and profitable party for me.

Drain Bead, you’re amazing! I never even noticed! duhhh.

everybody…[sings] John Stuart Mill of his own free will, of a half a pint of shanty was particularly ill… [/sings]

Yep, I had to use a color in all my posts. I figured mine would be one of the first guessed.

That’s what I thought… I fell into ‘that’s too simple’ trap and was trying to see if it was more specific. Oh well.

OK, well, I feel better now. I never would have gotten this one anyway.

LHoD, I was snowed under by the weight of verbiage, I think. I had no idea. And I know all the damn cliches too. There sure was a lot of pie…

Drain Bead, gah! Well done.

I was suffering tunnel vision on the magic/sci fi thing for some reason… well camoflaged.

I thought you had me when you asked what my favorite color was.

Great Job guests. I’m sorry I didn’t post more but I was reading the thread and had no idea what the quirks were. Daphne great job picking up the slack and getting as many as you did.

I thought I was giving it all away when I said I wanted to be jogging buddies (running mates) with Obama.
