Who remembers him? He seems to be running again.
He’s dead, but hey… picky picky picky.
(I almost put this in the Elections forum, but I figured it would just end up here.)

I remember it.
Me, too. This Stephen Colbert gimmick makes me think of the wonders Paulsen was able to pull off. My favorite was his refusal to pronounce Herbert Umphrey’s name. That and the lackluster fist pounding.
The Smothers need to come back, too!
I’d rather have someone you can count on in the White House, even if they are dead, than some of the loose cannons running today. Pat’s got my vote.
I remember a fantastic satirical article on running dead candidates in Time Magazine in 1980. They pointed out there is nothing in the Constitution that specifies a president must be alive when he is chosen. So why not?
Hell, I remember when Jayne Mansfield ran for President in '64 (“The White House or Bust!”).
I have a 8x10 “Pat Paulson for President” publicity photo, hand-stamped by the man himself.
I like what he…
…stands for?
I remember him:
“What this country needs is a good five-cent nickel.”
.
How could they tell?
I’d still vote for him.
As far as dead presidential candidates go, I prefer Bill the Cat.
Ack!
Or perhaps one of Rob Paulsen’s characters for president…
“Pinky, are you pondering what I’m pondering?”
“I think so Brain, but how would I ever get to be President of the United States anyway?”
Narf!
One of his campaign slogans was, “I’ve upped my standards, now up yours”.
Legend has it that When Huber Humphrey met Pat Paulsen he remarked, pehaps only half-jokingly, “you cost me the election”.
Hey, me too!
Let’s not forget another of his campaign slogans:
“We Can’t Stand Pat.”
I don’t remember his 60s runs but I do his 1988 campaign. His speech still has relevant wisdom:
It was actually a big deal hearing that in '88 because “bitching” wasn’t in nearly as common a use on primetime.
Paulsen was also in the tabloids in the late '80s alleging that his estranged wife had embezzled half a million from him. This was a shock to everybody: “Pat Paulsen has half a million dollars!?”
I remember Linda Lovelace for President. A vote for Linda is a blow for democracy!
That’s it, the dream ticket
Vote Paulson/Lovelace in 2012.
Had a Paulson button back in '68. I think he got nominations from the STAG Party and the POT Party.
