Anyone see Pat Robertson on CNN or read the brief burb about his statements on CNN in USA Today? I realize that this is dynamiting puppies in a barrel here, but the slimey, hypocritical bastard has the arrogance to say that in cases like China, FORCED ABORTIONS ARE OKAY!!! WTF??? Its not all right for American women to have abortions, but because China has 1.2 billion people, they can go ahead an do it! That’s freakin’ absurd! I have to wonder if its because China’s home to people who don’t look like Pat. Wonder if he thinks its okay for an HIV + mother in Africa to have an abortion because she can’t afford the drugs which would prevent her from passing the infection on to her child? Why does anyone believe or follow this goober? Is his disregard for women’s rights so great that he thinks its okay for women to be forced to abort their pregnancies up until almost the point of birth? I suppose its okay that they murder girls at birth simply because girls are considered “unlucky” in China and they do have this slight problem with over population and all. I don’t have a problem with people who are anti-choice, so long as they don’t start screaming in my face about the matter (feel the same way about the pro-choice people, myself), but when you have a guy like Pat Robertson who gets up there and says that America’s going to hell because we allow abortion, but its okay for those people to do it, I’ve got a real problem with that. Sorry this isn’t more witty and articulate, folks, but I’m just too stunned by all this to pull that off at the moment. Anybody else out there shocked by all this?
Actually, given Robertson’s real moral values, it probably has more to do with some business venture he has going in China that he doesn’t want to screw up with public cries against their policiy.
He really is simply a venal little man with a big case of greed.
Perhaps he’s got a bit of a Utilitarian streak going… when the need is great enough, abortion is okay (but, of course, Choice is still a terrible sin).
Or maybe he just doesn’t like Chinese people? ::shrug::
Pat Robertson is, (what’s the word?) INSANE. He is not worth our time. (Us being sane people).

Ahh, but you’re missing the real point here. If a government allows women to get abortions, it’s wrong. If it forces them to, then it’s okay.
