Patrick Swayze is dying

Well, I’ll be on the bus to hell, too, because my first thought was, “I don’t have him in the deathpool.”

Very sad, though. I’ve had a crush on him since forever.

How about when they reported that Burt Reynolds was dying of AIDS?

And to contribute to the general movie quotiness: I don’t think of Patrick as a man, and I don’t think of him as a woman. I think of him as an angel!

Me, too!

No but Kevin Nealon was, so hopefully the trend continues (also in the skit were Mike Myers and Jan Hooks).

To which statement?

Both. Although for me, “forever” means since “Dirty Dancing.”

Dear lord, Patrick Swayze is 55? When did that happen? That makes “Dirty Dancing” seem a little skeevy.

Scratch that. Jennifer Grey is 47.

I’m old.

Jeff Healey, who was in Road House, succumbed to cancer over the weekend.

Still quoting the Enquierer, though.

You win the funeral.

Damn… no Patrick Swayze Christmas this year…

If I were him, and had enough strength left, I’d find the biggest hurricane swells I can find, and paddle off into them; leave life on his own terms IOW. Yes the ending was the only thing good about that movie.

Gilbert Gottfried will still be around to do Swayze’s voice in animated work.

Googling, I’ve found many a small cite for him having a ‘mystery’ surgery that was serious (some as a gastro-intestinal procedure), roughly around February 5th. It listed Stanford University Medical Center as the hospital. Also, if you look at recent pictures, he comes across as really gaunt, thin and sickly.

However, I so hope this isn’t true. He’s been my favorite aunt’s crush since forever (Dirty Dancing) too. :frowning:

Seriously, I hope the Swayz is OK.

Meltdown, wow. I didn’t realize he was that much older than I am. I would have said early 40s.

Dang, I just rented “Keeping Mum,” in which he plays a delightfully vile, American golf-instructing seducer/peeping Tom.

Although, I admit the best about that movie is its Isle of Man setting, and that it has Maggie Smith and Kristen Scott-Thomas.

Actually, one more thing … but … uh … never mind.

Oh, Rowan Atkinson is often funnier when playing a straight role.
