Obviously things will only get worse from here, as calls for retribution will drown out the voices of reason. Are we heading the way of Israel/Palestinians?

The man had worked in the Mideast for most of his career. He loved it there. What a horrible senseless way to make a point.
My prayers are with his family. And prayers for justice, although I wouldn’t worry about the bloody scenario you’ve mentioned. We’re separated by several thousand miles, not dozens.
You and I in NYC are, Americans abroad are not.
I think everyone here recognizes that this is the work of madmen and is abhorred by the Arab in the street. I don’t see an Israeli/ Palestinian scenario–as pointed out, we don’t share a border with Saudi Arabia-- but I do expect GOP apologists for US war crimes to pop up and say, “See, our torture is nothing compared to THAT” and thus enable the government to sweep the abuses at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay under the rug.
I’d think anyone from NYC would have as much cause to worry as an American abroad.
I probably didn’t put it correctly. I mean the Israel situation in terms of a global tit for tat cycle of violence that appears to have no end.
It seems that both sides are getting worse.
