Not a joke, story is here. It’s for a Hurricane Sandy benefit tonight in NYC. Looks like they’ll be playing a new song, and I doubt Macca will be learning any of the old ones to play w/ them.

We live in a bizarre universe.
The show lineup looks pretty awesome. One reviewer said of The Who’s soundcheck, “…it was high-octane as hell. Pete Townshend’s arm did 11 full windmills during the first song alone.”
There’s a link on the left to Nirvana Beatles songs.

Oh, well. Paul had been rumored to be dead all those years ago. It’s only fitting that he fills in for Kurt Cobain.
I hope they do “Octopus’ Garden in [del]Courtney Love’s Vagina[/del] a Heart-Shaped Box”
Point of order - [del]Are we gonna do Stonehenge again tonight?[/del] Is McCartney going to be on guitar? Or bass?
Isn’t Krist Novasiaklekljqrlewa or whatever the bass player?
My bet is guitar.
I can’t imagine this is going to sound very good.
I can’t wait to hear what this sounds like. Dave and Kris haven’t played Nirvana tunes in public since Kurt Cobain’s suicide.
Merged duplicate threads.
So did it happen? A crazy bald, fat man is blabbering now. Wait, that’s Billy Joel.

lo-fi video
[/QUOTE]That’s a really crappy video with even worse audio, but from what I can hear, it’s a really good song.
ETA: Found a 30 second real deal video, and fuck yeah, that’s a great song!
DAMMIT! Stupid short edit window!
There’s a full video at the end of the article I linked to in my previous post. I didn’t see it because I was trying to get the URL linked before the edit window expired.
ETA: It is the unbelievably coolest thing in the world to see Pat on stage and in a band with Paul! It had to be a dream come true for him!
Sir Paul’s speaking voice seems to have taken a beating, but he can still sing pretty well - or maybe this song is just suited to whatever’s happened to his voice…
I love Paul’s cigar-box guitar. Very low-tech in a cool way. They are going through a big resurgence these days.
That was a cool jam, and it did bridge the common ground between the bands just a little bit. I did find myself wishing they could’ve worked up a Nirvana song, but I figure they didn’t have time.
I’m trying to find out what that instrument is. It’s a 4 string, right? Almost looks like a baritone uke of some kind.
