GOTCHA!
Okay, between an earthquake and your thread title, my poor heart can’t take anymore today…sheesh!
Ava
That was the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. Thanks.
On another message board someone got me with “CLINTON CAUGHT WITH COCAINE!”
I don’t get it. What’s funny? You hated him? You loathe bowties?
This was a good guy. His loss is ours as well.
Yes on the bowties. But, sadly, there aren’t many politicians these days of his caliber and ethics. I wish there were more with his blend of Fiscal Conservative and Social Liberal.
Yeah, another fan.
(And no, you didn’t get me – my first thought was him, then the singer, and then the page loaded.)
A former United States Senator dies, leaving behind his wife, son, daughter, and stepdaughter, and you use it as a cause to say “Gotcha” because he happened to have shared a name with a singer.
You’re an absolute class act, Annie-Xmas.
The “gotcha” was in poor taste, imho. Really, it’s not fun to make fun of someone’s death.
Not me, you didn’t. Nor anyone else who saw their epsiode of SNL, I’d wager.
You got me going for a second… I thought it was the singer!
Really poor judgement.
Having witnessed Senator Simon’s ethics, intellect and values for more than 25 years, I’m a good deal more upset than I would be if the other Paul Simon had died a day after having heart surgery.
It’s not funny.
No pickin’ up Edie Brikel on the rebound…
Agreed. I feel like we’ve lost one of the good guys - an ally in politically weird times.
He’ll be missed.
Crying shame that he’s gone, and I never gave a damn about the other one.
Well, I’m glad the singer still lives, I’m sorry the politician is dead, and I wish I hadn’t opened this thread.
I met Senator Simon several times during my time living and going to school in Illinois. He was unswervingly ethical, upstanding, modest, intelligent and dignified and news of his death hit me. The Senate is a lesser place for his retirement and the nation is a lesser place for his passing.
I truly hope, Annie, that you show one-one thousandth of the class Senator Simon possessed and apologize, along with asking that this thread title be changed to reflect the death of this great man and your churlish and disgusting “gotcha!” be edited out.
Bad, bad form.
