Paul, you should reread your big post just above mine. First off, you shouldn’t do #1, #2 and #3 in the first place, if it makes you say dumb things. You shouldn’t be defending ridiculous opinions you don’t really agree with. You shouldn’t be a different person on the boards than you are in person. Well, at least you shouldn’t be a complete jackass on the boards when you’re a decent, reasonable person in real life.
You may not give a crap if anyone who posts here respects you or values your opinion, but you should see that the way you’re posting is guaranteeing that nobody will.

In other words, when you say something extravagantly stupid that you don’t really mean and wouldn’t have said if you were calm and sober, we all have to give it a pass or else your pride won’t let you back down from it. I see.
Paul, are you this high-maintenance in real life too? I mean, getting wasted and spewing some stupid stuff you don’t really mean is one thing. Lots of us have done that and showed up the next morning to explain that we were shitfaced and now we’re sorry. Errare humanum est and all that jazz.
But saying that you’ll refuse to take back the stupid stuff you said unless everybody else refrains from condemning it as stupid… dude, that is a kind of privileged treatment for ignorance that NOBODY gets around here.

When your “opinions” are merely stupid drunken ramblings that you didn’t even mean in the first place and are now only defending because your ego can’t tolerate admitting you were wrong… well, kid, you’re half right when you say there will be “no victory for either side”.
Oh good grief. It’s a step up from “Now how do you know I didn’t mean smart neutron bombs dropped specifically on military targets?” and similarly evasive (uselessly so) maneuvres.
Paul, I would strongly recommend trying your next 100-200 posts sober.
Quit posting under the influence. Get a LiveJournal and post this crap under “your eyes only”, if you MUST type it out, or just write it up in Word or Notepad and save it to look at when you’ve sobered up.
We’ve banned more than one person who habitually posted under the influence.
