Pavlov's cats

Earlier today, my wife and I were watching “I love 1974” on VH1, and they played a Meow Mix commercial, you know the one, the cat sings the lyrics: “Meow, meow, meow, meow. Meow, meow, meow, moew…” and a bouncing ball follows the translation in English at the bottom of the screen: “I like chicken. I like fish…” Now, as soon as the commercial came on, in a stunning display of synchronised and conditioned response that Pavlov would have been proud of, both of us began to sing the meows in perfect time and tune to the commercial. So, my question: Does anyone else sing “Meow, meow, meow, meow. Meow, meow, meow, meow…” when they see a Meow Mix commercial?

“Pavlov,” that name rings a bell.

<drools>

Steak!!!

STEAK!!!
STEAK!!!

I sing the Meow Mix song when it comes on. And sometimes when it doesn’t.

Ditto angel of the lord.

EddyTeddyFreddy refrains from singing it, as the resident felines cower in offended agony when she bursts into song. However, Eddy, Teddy and Freddy have been known to vocalize in harmony when the Meow Mix bag appears from its secure vault.

I sing it to my kittens. It freaks them out.

Day one: Rang bell. Cat f**ked off
(Eddie Izzard)

To the cat in the box: I burning your bell!

btw, I’ve been conditioned to respond to a probability waveform.

Damn aliens.

It’s my answering machine message. Meow meow meow meow…I love that commercial.

I love the Meow Mix commercial where the cat call out, the wife gets the cat food. The husband, sitting watching the game, starts singing “beer, beer, beer, beer” and the wife just fries him with a LOOK.

You know the LOOK.

Especially you, WeirdDave. I learned it from your wife.

Great - know I have that infernal song stuck in my head. Curse you, ** Weirddave **!!!11

My cat’s breath smells like Meow Mix.

It’s BACON!!!
