PC Gamers: Question About Gran Turismo

I cut my console gaming teeth on a PlayStation and Gran Turismo was one of my all time favorites. Hell I even had a bucket seat complete with racing harness in my living room. Not to mention the racing wheel and pedals and a console complete with beer holder (after all, what great race driver doesn’t like to sip on a brown ale or two as he smokes the competition?)

What a blast it was to play that game up on the big screen! I suppose I should have never given that console to my nephews when I finally moved up to a PC gaming rig.

My question is this: Why in the hell has such a successful franchise as GT never been ported over to the PC? With Gran Turismo 4 in the works, I just don’t understand it. They could rake in millions from the PC racing community.

Can anyone here explain this to me?

Sony makes more money on it by having it be PlayStation-only. It’s one of the few first-party (it’s published by SCEA but developed by Polyphony Digital, which I think Sony owns as well) franchises that Sony does big business with. Selling the game makes big bucks for them, and selling the games means selling their console as well.

I’m sure a company that large has several volumes worth of market research that proves this to them, or else they would have ported it quite some time ago.

SkyBum I also wanted to play some of my PS games on my PC and since most of my fav titles werent available as a PC version I used Bleem!.
This is IMHO the best emulator used for converting your PS games to PC playable games.Just pop in ur PS cd in the drive and access it via Bleem!.Unfortunately its not free.
You can get Bleem! here
Hope this works for you.
