I am skipping over the pond in October for a short stay, so it is time to stock up on the low-price stuff of home: Clothes and electronics.
I’d like to reduce the number of electronics I carry, so I would like to get a combo PDA/tri-band mobile phone.

goes by a variety of names and branding but the i-mate Jam is the bee’s knees. I had the previous version, which was fine but much bigger. This puppy is truely pocket sized but still a PDA with a virtual screen.
It’s microsoft powered which means it synchs with all your office stuff. GPRS works really well, but make sure it’s available in your neck of the woods.
You might want to wait on Microsoft Mobile version 5 powered devices coming out.
Seriously though, I like the size and functionality. I wish it didn’t have the underpowered camera but no choice. check it out.
If you like PalmOS, there’s the Treo 650 - I have its predecessor, the 600 and it’s great. WinCE-based devices, although they may surpass it in some areas, have only really recently started to rival it in terms of all-round design feature set and usability. I understand the battery life on the 650 is quite remarkable for a PDA/phone combo.
