I turned off AdBlock, and it still said it’s not compatible with my video configuration.
Is your video card the latest configuration?
I am not paying for any streaming service launched by over the air networks, period. Never will. There are too many as it is.
No, but I’ve been able to watch every other streaming service just fine.
Much of their content isnt over the air. Unedited movies, all seasons of many shows as diverse as Downton Abbey, Ray Donovan, a Swedish comedy called Swedish Dicks, Original docs, etc.
Yeah, I get it, they try to grab you with the “good stuff” they won’t air. I just have an objection to everybody and their dog doing this. You buy all these and you might as well get cable.
Its far cheaper than cable and there are more viewing choices like being able to binge all seasons of shows. Like I said, its $29.99 for a full year of premium through today. Thats about one fourth of what I pay a month for cable. And cable wont let me stream some channels on my phone.
Yeah, but I’m already paying $50 a month for Sling (was on Youtube TV but they just jacked their prices up another $15 a month to $65 and I said screw that), plus Amazon Prime Video, Netflix. You start throwing on other things and it really adds up. As it is I’m going to get Disney+ when 2nd season of Mandalorian is over and binge on everything on there for a month and then cancel again.
I can get 125 channels on Fios TV for $50 a month (my cable provider). In fact, I’m not sure why I haven’t done that yet. Anyway, YMMV.
Good news for you then; one level of service (with limited programming) is available for free if you’re in the US.
Huh. Well, I suppose the issues mentioned above notwithstanding, maybe I’ll check out the free version.
And you don’t have to jump through hoops (and stay on the phone for 2 hours) to cancel. Just click a button.
Unlike all the other streaming services, which never lose the rights to any content.
Did you know that Netflix loses titles every month?
Oh no! Netflix is a disaster!
Except Netflix still has a lot of great original content like Orange is the New Black and Bojack Horseman. Peacock is launching with reboots of Saved By the Bell and Punky Brewster.
And at least you can watch Netflix if you have more than one monitor.
Also, Netflix doesn’t think locking old Law and Order episodes behind a premium paywall is good business.
Netflix is free?

No, but just because something is free doesn’t make it good.
Free changes the value proposition significantly.
Not to mention for NBC, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, SNL ARE original content.
Though, not “original to Peacock” – yes, it’s all stuff that was/is original to NBC, but it’s not created specifically for Peacock, and it’s essentially just more re-runs of old shows.
That’s the thing; Netflix is unusual in that they have no other outlet for their content. If NBCUniversal has a really good new show, are they going to put it on Peacock? No, they’re far more likely to put it on the NBC broadcast network, Bravo, USA Network or one of the other broadcast or streaming networks they own. Similarly, Disney is more likely to put a big new show on ABC, Freeform or The Disney Channel than it is on Disney+. Netflix (and perhaps only Amazon Prime) has no other outlet for its content.
