It’s a good thing the person who found the leg wasn’t a Doper. They would have seen it, said out loud “Is that a leg?” and then fallen over laughing.
One of my favorite posts here was by someone who was (I think) pitting a driver for causing a traffic accident and included in the post a series (?) of MSPaint drawings illustrating the incident he was describing. I wish I could remember the thread because I remember that the drawings cracked me up, but I can’t remember specifically why.
Gah, I hate vague memories that would be very entertaining (again) if I could just remember more! :mad:
Maybe the man’s leg was an Australian aborigine?
Some people see a leg 160 feet away from the point of impact, and up on a rooftop, and say “Why?”
I see rooftops without legs on them and say “Why not?”

Almost 20 years ago a lady I know was driving home on the freeway in her Buick Reatta. It was just before Christmas, at about 7PM. She was in the fast lane when all of a sudden there was a huge hole in the center of the windshield.
She pulled over on the center divider and got out and found a dead body on the trunk of her car. She tried to flag someone down, but for some reason no one wanted to stop for a white lady with a dead black guy on her trunk.
She got back into the car and drove across the freeway to try a emergency call box. It was out of order of course, so she drove (with body) to the next exit and called the highway patrol from a fast food restaurant. After the CHP arrived, she fell apart and had to spend the night in the hospital sedated.
Anyway the Highway Patrol investigated and found that there had been no impact on her bumper or hood, the point of impact was the windshield. They also found the body was short one arm. The theory they came up with was that the dead guy was hit by another vehicle, quite possibly a large truck which tore off his arm, and lofted him up in the air, where my friend wound up driving under his falling body.
The arm was never found.

Anyone else reminded of the Chante Jawan Mallard, the black woman who hit a white guy, impaling him in her windshield while he was stiill alive, drove home and put her car in the garage with the poor guuy still in her windshiel.d and alive,leaving him to die two days later??:eek:
I cried because I had no shoes until I saw a leg with no man.
My personal theory is that the leg had already been detached by a previous accident, and the victim was using it to flag down the speeding driver for assistance. When he realised the collision was inevitable he remembered his quarterback training and instinctively took the only evasive action possible.
It happened again, yesterday, several hours before you posted this.
A drunk driver hit a guy and cut off both his legs as he came through the windshield and he landed in the front passenger seat. The ‘kicker’? The driver kept going for another couple of miles without realizing his new friend was sitting next to him. That is one helluva bender.
