For some reason, when The Times featured this story today they produced a mock-up of the penguin standing beside Hazel Blears who is just 4 foot 10 inches tall. She has just been elected deputy leader of the Labour Party. What strange political point were they trying to make ?
I saw the article at the National Geographic site, and I didn’t know that until I read it there.
Now that the giant penguins have been discovered, that scene from “Scott of the Sahara” isn’t that much of a stretch, is it? 
Obviously they were mocking short people.

Sorry, I got all discombobulated in my irritation. The family may have been Swiss but my mind just wandered to all of the explorers who did stuff just like this - a lot of whom were brits. Remember, I’m of E. Indian descent so when I think colonizing bastards I *always *think of the English.
