Does anyone know where I can find Cross-type pens without pocket clips? I prefer metal pens such as Cross due to my unusual writing style, but have to stop often due to the pocket clip hitting my hand. However, it seems ever pen out there has a pocket clip by default.
Would one that has the clip on the cap work?
That style of pen was marketed to women. Theoretically, men would clip their pens into a pocket, while women would put pens in their purses. My grandmother gave me a Cross pen without a clip over 30 years ago, and she made a point of telling me that this was how you could tell a woman’s pen from a men’s. Today, however, it does seem that even feminine styles have that clip. Perhaps you might find a pen you like on eBay, but the selection is pretty random.
Fisher makes one called the Bullet Space Pen. Some models come with a removable clip, but the one I use simply has a cap.
A google search for “clipless pens” turns up many others, including this site which has some very cool (but pricey) ones.
