This dates back to the Cold War, and I hope I’m remembering correctly. I was in the area visiting GrandparentsOakie, probably early-mid '70s. One of the local stations did the “Santa Tracker” deal…showed Santa taking off from the North Pole, traveling around the world…but then showed him VANISH FROM RADAR OVER RUSSIA!
They then cut to a shot of the Blue Angels taking off to “rescue Santa”…which they must have done sucessfully, because he delivered as usual.
Anybody else remember this? Or did Oakie maybe kill off a few too many brain cells back in the day…
