People of the United States!

Reposting from an email from my Mom - Today is the day to make room in your fridge for the turkey to thaw. Clear a spot and what the hey, wipe that shelf off while you’re at it. What could it hurt?
This PSA brought to you by my mother. Gobble gobble!

My son is hoping to find a fresh, heirloom turkey. If that can’t be found, then a small, teeny, tiny turkey will be purchased and shoved into our overstuffed fridge. A very large ham will also be stuffed in the overstuffed fridge.

I have taken out the veggie crisper drawers and cleaned those out in preparation for all the fall vegetables that’ll fill them in the next two days. My crisper drawers have a warning on them to NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER, which chapped my ass cuz I’m lazy.

Yep - my bird is still alive. Won’t be dead until Tuesday, arrive at my house on Wednesday.

I’m not in the United States, but I do like the idea of cleaning my fridge. The shelves do get mucky, and you don’t really notice it since it’s a drip and a smudge at a time.

Your best friend when cleaning out the fridge is a chair. I know, you want to have the door open for as short as possible and sitting down seems counter to that but it’ll be quicker and far less strenuous, I promise!
I ***love ***the idea of fresh turkey but when offered a frozen one for free it’s hard to turn down. Thanks to this, I know to take my 16.5 lb bird out first thing Sunday.

With strategic chair placement, I find I can have a chair, and still close the fridge as often as I would while standing.
