Yep, this sounds strange, but I’ve observed it time and time again at my job. When talking to customers, and getting to talking beyond the customer’s comfort range in knowledge, folks start to scratch their hands or, more likely, the wrist area.
It’s so common an occurence that I take it as a point of discomfort cue, and then try to really help the person be more comfortable, and give better information: “Oh, well, it’s so easy to do that, but here’s how you can do fix it, no problem…”
And, I found myself doing the same wrist scratch thing at my dentist’s office when he
was trying to explain why I should have my wisdom teeth yanked now as an adult.
Anyone know why this is, or, at least, is it an is at all?
