People search

Has anybody ever tried to find an old high school or college buddy on the net? With all the paranoia about the abundance of information available about us on the web, where is it? All I’ve been able to find so far is ads for background checkers, etc. Out of curiosity, I ran my e-mail address through the large search engines people finder programs and came up empty. My hot mail address is all over the place. I’d appreciate any help.

Not so fast, you mucko!

You could try a place like http://www.classmates.com or http://www.highschoolreunion.com

Both of them are places where you can register your info and look at people who have already registered. It is broken up by high school and grad year.

My sig line is currently unavailable. Please check this post in 1 hour when we resume our broadcast day.

http://www.classmates.com asks for money for some of their e-mail addresses, so I don’t like it. Never tried the other.

I love http://www.alumni.net
I’ve also found friends with http://www.whowhere.com and http://www.infospace.com

Once I did use 1-800-US SEARCH (I think that’s right) to find a friend that I’d been looking for forever. They found him in 20 minutes. Freaky-deaky!

FYI 1-800-US SEARCH charged me $50.00, IIRC.

THNX FR. INF., CHY. CU. X X X

Coldy-Me-Lub, suck my ass. 'Kay?

:stuck_out_tongue:

No,no,no.

Where is the thrill of the chase? I don’t want to pay somebody. I want to find utility bill reciepts, voter registration or driver license info, etc. I tried to find marriage license info and hit a wall. How do all these internet detective agencies do it? Might as well put all this technology to good use. I heard on a radio talk show that the freedom of info act is just a money making scam. Somebody tried to get some trial pictures from the Charles Manson case, which were supposed to be legally available, and were told they had to order the entire case file, all 1 million pages, at ten cents a page.

Thanks,
John

You should register with classmates.com even if you don’t pay… it’s free to register you just have to pay to get access to all the features. But if you register, at least you give people a chance of finding YOU.
