People that tag people on FB comments are the worst

I don’t know if I’m the only one, but it feels like I’m the only person that gets annoyed by seeing dozens of “tag comments” on funny pictures,etc. that consist of just name tags, you usually have to actually search inside the comment section to find a real comment.

If I find something funny, I send it via chat to a person with whom I am either having a conversation or maybe I use that to start the conversation, but tagging on the other hand just seems awkward, if someone tags you, you kinda must reply/like even if you couldn’t care less about the photo in order to not offend the person that tagged you and also you can’t really talk in public like you would on chat, every one of your friends will see what you said and that’s fine in some situations, but there are people that tag each other every single day and they have to deal with that stuff day after day.

Still, even if we assume that the whole thing is not awkward, it’s still extremely annoying when you see a funny/interesting picture and you want to see some funny/interesting comments related to it and instead you just see a damn phone book.

I’m annoyed by this, too. I’ll see an article or something and see that there are a bunch of comments. I’ll think, oh, this looks like it’s inspired some discussion, and then when I expand the comments it’s just a list of a bunch of people tagging friends. People either don’t realize there is a Share function, or maybe it’s easier to do it that way on mobile or something.

You can disable the ability for other people to tag you. It’s in the [privacy, I think] settings.
