I’ve known a few people in my day who seem to have this trait in common.
And it’s not like they’ve copped the look. They physically resemble their favorite artists and most of them seem to be unaware of the resemblance.
I’ve known both a man and woman who both resemble Barry Manilow and are both big Manilow fans.
Also I knew a gal who looked like Bowie with shoulder length hair and she was the biggest Bowie fan.
All of these people when questioned denied the resemblances and claimed I was the only one to ask.
Were they in denial.
Anyone else come across this breed of human?

Hey, I’m one of those people!
If you look at a '70s-era photo of Walter Becker of Steely Dan (he’s the one on the right), that’s me today, if I had long hair. What’s funny is, a photo of present-day WB looks a lot like my dad, so I already know what I’m going to look like in thirty years. I don’t think Dad is a Steely Dan fan, though.
I also knew a woman (my music teacher in grade-school) who was a major Barry Manilow fan and looked just like him.
I enjoy the music of John Mellencamp, and have been told repeatedly that I resemble him.
I like Evanescence a lot. (Saw them in concert last week! Woo!) A couple of people have told me I look like Amy Lee. I’d like to believe they’re right; she’s so cute.
I’ve known a Barry Manilow freak who resembled him (the fan is a she).
Also, another female who loved and resembled Elton John.
I’ve not encountered this phenomenon among males though.

I’ll second Amy Lee being cute.
How you doin’?
