You know when I was young the idea of pineapple on pizza absolutely nauseated me. The mingling of sweet and savory and particularly fruit and savory just seemed repulsive. As with many things culinary that has flipped as I’ve gotten older - now sweet + savory is really appealing. I’ve never had pineapple on pizza and I’d sort of like to give it a try. Except…
Another thing happened to me with age - I became a horrible pizza snob (also many other kinds of food/beverage snob). I now dislike most standard available pizza places and will only deign to indulge myself with a select few establishments as I eat less and less pizza generally. The crust is kinda critical for me. None of those are “lowbrow” enough to have pineapple available. First world problems

Still hate anchovies on pizza though (though I will cook occasionally with a single filet to add umami).
ETA: Oh, yeah and prescriptivism suck. Unless it is one of my oxen being gored, in which case words mean something damnit!
