I’ll admit I am like this. I can be very similar to a rabid sports fan while I am playing certain games. When I hang out at my friend’s apartment playing Planetside (an online game) with him, his roomate often comments to me that she can never tell whether I’m winning or losing because the screaming and swear words are the same no matter what
My friend and I are a tank crew in this game. He drives the tank, and I operate the main gun. This takes an amazingly high amount of coordination (hence why we are in the same room while playing the game, to talk to each other) and even the best 2 players sometimes will get in hopeless situations. When my friend and I are playing, its like 2 people driving in an unfamiliar location, with one person the ‘backseat driver’ (me in this case). Some of our not-so-flattering moments:
-Suggesting to driver to “take that road, its a shortcut.” only to have the tank topple off some 1000 foot cliff that LOOKED like a turnoff, and have its fall absorbed by the wreckage of countless vehicles that made the same dumb mistake we did.
-Shooting at an enemy bomber bearing down on us, only to have it crash into us when the crew bails out. :smack:
-Getting rear-ended by some asshat driver on a bridge, causing our tank to totter precariously over the edge, swaying back and forth while we are screaming at each other in misdirected panic, then suddenly having the game’s phsyiscs engine show off its ‘physics’ by having our take suddenly start cartwheeling out of control across half the damn continent. :eek:
And it’s just my personal opinion, but a 150mm shell seems like it does ever so slightly more damage when you scream out a cuss word at the target while firing.
I don’t play many video games anymore, but I used to be an RPG fiend. Sometimes I’d let people know in advance if I was starting a new one, so they wouldn’t worry when they didn’t hear from me for weeks at a time.
I used to jump around a bit while playing arcade games…now I’m more likely to yell at the Screen “I’m Rick James, Bitch!” and “Whose yo daddy?” after making a satifying kill.
lol - I play evercrack, and this past feb went to germany to visit a friend who also plays, and is my normal hunting partner[and game husband=)]
I noticed we would talk while hunting, but when we zoned we tended to stop chatting…because in game your computer locks up and you cant do anything while zoning=)
I also noticed during one particular fight i heard this pathetic whimper from next to me - heal me…help - heal me… can i get a heal… <giggle> and in fights we both tend to talk to the monsters we are fighting…
I just know when I gave him a very expensive ‘ornate leather tunic pattern’ for our anniversary a couple weeks ago he must have been doing the ‘squirm around in the seat happy dance’ and laughing in glee… and as we were hunting with a different character of his he desperately wanted to bail out on our normal hunting plans for the day really badly to go make his new armor but didnt want to disappoint me by not hunting…so I told him that I didnt mind and to go ahead and make the new toy…and he was so gleeful once he made it he clicked the effect on me about 10 times in 5 minutes [it has a spell effect you can cast on yourself or other people]
sigh boys with brand new toys are both predictable, and lots of fun=)
