People who hate children

curlcoat, up until now I haven’t said anything about the veracity of your disability claims. But you should know that any doubt anyone has about it is due to the contradictions in your own posts. What Really Not All That Bright responded to was your own statement:

A statement that clearly implies that if you were trained to do some other kind of sit-down work where you could get part-time hours, you wouldn’t have to go on disability. When he suggests an avenue for sit-down work where you could get part-time hours, you say that you can only work from home. This makes little sense after you’ve told us that you just drove 16 hours round-trip to another city to deliver a dog to someone, showing that you are capable of traveling to a sit-down job. If a person really paid attention, they could give many many examples of such inconsistent and contradictory information in your posts. This leads me to only a couple possible conclusions: You aren’t really disabled, but are pulling a scam, or, you are trolling us. Is it one of these, or do you have another explanation for the inconsistencies?

You aren’t really disabled, not so much that you are confined to bed; you can only work from home, except of course when you’re trucking dogs off on 16 hour excursions; and yet you bitch and moan about people who *choose *not to work.

Lady, you are so full of shit it must hurt. If you wanted a job, you’d fucking get one. Chrissakes, Wal-Mart greeters don’t even need to know how to stand up.

This is all of course not to mention that if you hate children, strap on a pair and just say it’s because of your icy, black heart and not because of any bullshit money woes.

I anxiously await the point by point rebuttal telling me that I just don’t understand, or at the very least a self-rightously filled demand that I cite where you said that you actually have a heart in the first place.

What’s weird is that I don’t like anyone’s goddamn kids either, except if they’re related to me, and usually not even then.

I just don’t mind paying a bit for them since they’ll be wiping away my drool and changing my bedpans and so on in 60 years.

I’m with you, RNATB. Kids are a necessary evil, no doubt about it (I HAVE kids, and I still know that!) They recently built a skate park in one of the parks in my town, which I’ve been bitching about to anyone who will listen. But somehow I just can’t begrudge the little tykes schooling and swing to play on.

Well, personally speaking, I hate animals. Yes, I hate animals. I am softening up a bit as I get older, but I still really don’t care for them much. I don’t want to pet your dog. I don’t want to see pictures of your cat. I just don’t like animals. But I don’t have a problem with MY TAX DOLLARS!!!1!!! going to pay for dog runs and the like. Because, you see, I don’t mind if other people want to have dogs. No skin off my back. And those people probably want to get their dogs some exercise and playtime outside, and not everybody has the space to do so in their own yard or even neighborhood. So I think public dog runs and dog parks are a swell idea.

Those jackasses who keep wanting us to pay for their damn streets in the next neighborhood over, though… that’s a different story.

…but if one of those little bastids thinks I’m going to sit still for free vaccinations, they’ve got another thing coming.

Well, that kind of shows the difference between you and, well, some other people. You have empathy for the dog owners. You understand that owning dogs makes some people happy, and that it’s therefore important for society to do what it can to accommodate. You also probably have empathy for the dog, which after all is a living creature, and deserves to be treated kindly. It’s not the dog’s fault that some human decided it ought to exist. All of that isn’t so different from how most non-parent types feel about kids and parents. Not having the urge to have a family doesn’t necessarily equate to resentment of those who do, thank goodness.

Only another 11 posts to go - you can do it, folks!

Don’t worry … **curlcoat’s **lagging on her point-by-point inanities. I’m sure once *Oprah’s *over she’ll catch up.

Well then, you would be wrong twice then, eh? I am still currently applying for SSDI (note that “I” at the end there, it stands for “insurance”), but I have never applied for welfare.

That you aren’t making any sense? Yes.

And they’re off …

Another thing you aren’t making sense on, or are purposely being obtuse. Where did I ever say that I didn’t want to pay any taxes?

More power to you, but stop pretending SSDI isn’t welfare.

God, I’m terrified that some mod is watching this thing and is going to lock the thread at 1,999 posts. Don’t do it! We’re so close!

Ah…the old “lipstick on a pig” tactic. Yeah…ok, it’s insurance. Got it.

I just clicked on it and it worked just fine. Here, I’ll help you and prove the quote -

“wel·fare (wlfâr)
n.
1.
a. Health, happiness, and good fortune; well-being.
b. Prosperity.
2. Welfare work.
3.
a. Financial or other aid provided, especially by the government, to people in need.
b. Corporate welfare.”

No, I was discussing that will people from the US who thought they know how the Canadian health insurance system worked.

Because you refuse to acknowledge that you are wrong.

Seriously, why don’t they bring their own slides, monkey bars, swing sets, and see saws? That’s practical advice from a very clever lady.

Ride your bike in the street like I did when I was a kid. Why do you need special lanes and trails? And why the fuck should I subsidize someone’s need to play tennis? How self-indulgent and ridiculous is THAT? No moreso than wanting playgrounds, really, right?

Sure, take a picture. I’d love to see this travesty of taxpayer money you’re complaining so bitterly about.

Yet you’ve never seen anything but 2-10 year olds in the playground. Yeah, I’d have to say I think that’s bullshit, sweetheart. I personally have never seen anything but tennis on a tennis court, nor anything but bikes in bike lanes.

Don’t be a bitch. I already told you that I myself have spent time in playgrounds because I find them pleasant. I see adults with kids, adults barbecuing, adults playing frisbee, adults eating lunches. Don’t believe me? Fine. But disagreeing with you doesn’t make me an idiot.

You haven’t given any rational reason why you don’t like paying for playgrounds but don’t mind tennis courts and bike lanes. It really makes you seem like a bitter, nasty, begrudging crank. WE ALL PAY FOR THINGS WE DON’T USE. Get over it.

ETA: Two posts to go… so close…

SSDI is welfare, as many people have pointed out here.

Are you still talking about grammar?

Woo-Hoo! 2000!

Yeeeeeaaaaaaah! fist bump

You know, I’m not one of the most popular or well-known posters around here, but for the rest of my time at the SDMB, I can say: Look; I contributed to the longest trainwreck in Pit history. Pardon while I allow myself a contented sigh.

…well, we all have to be proud of something.
