This is true for people who will never EVER earn a penny as well as those who earned lots of money at one time and currently don’t. No. I worked from the time I was 14 (when I was still being supported by my parents) until close to the end of 2007. Sometimes at more than one job. Definitely not a drain on society then. Since Sept of 07 - how have I been a drain? I pay our bills, I use services, I buy product, I take no taxpayer funded money.
Here is a fact for you - just because I don’t have/never had kids doesn’t make me a drain on society. Just because I am not currently working doesn’t make me a drain either. Perhaps you just don’t know what a drain is? That would be those that take more than they pay out. Given the amount of tax we pay, definitely not me.

The sad thing? My life is far from bitter, pathetic or miserable. Because I am not spending my money and time chained to offspring, I can travel, set and achieve goals, enjoy my husband - shoot just work in my garden!. Despite my disabilities and restrictions, my life is extremely full.

So, it doesn’t occur to you that some folks start working before they are done with high school? Or in my case, junior high? I know this isn’t a popular idea these days, but when I was young we worked as soon as we could in order to help out our families. And the government does make sure they get their cut.
