I’m working my way through The Sopranos again and this time around I’m really noticing Angie Bonpensiero (Big Pussy’s wife), played by Toni Kalem.

Agree, The first girl I had a big crush on (in grade school), and knew pretty well, had a mom that looked and sounded a lot like Kate Jackson. Yeah, I had a big crush on the mom too. She kind of set my “type” for life.

I agree, Judy Greer has to win some sort of award for this (call it “the Charlize”?) She convincingly played a train wreck in Arrested Development, and was similarly unattractive in at least one other thing I can’t recall at the moment. Otherwise she’s quite fetching.

I thought about starting a thread on a similar topic and call it “Who is a celebrity that you only know from one or two things, that you knew meant they were unattractive, then you googled them, and holy shit, they’re hot all the rest of the time?” However, that title was too unwieldy. :stuck_out_tongue:

So, I sometimes search famous people to see what they looked like when they were young. For some unknown reason, that led me to Shelley Duvall. Now, to my knowledge, I’d only mostly seen her in The Shining and Popeye, although I remember briefly her goofball turn in Nashville. But then I saw her pictures. Good Lord, I’ve developed a retro crush! She has pretty much been freaking gorgeous (to me) her whole life. Very exotic and had one of those ‘built for the runway’ figures, that really was enhanced by playing up her Bette Davis eyes. If I’d been of age when she was more popular, I can definitely have seen me wanting (and failing) to be her.
