I’m going to come up with something different: apparently, a lot of people will declare someone attractive or not depending on whether the glossies say so. Me, I like who I like and it’s got nothing to do with who their agent is.
Dudes that I declared attractive either without knowing who the hell they were, or before my classmates and coworkers saw them in a cover and decided they were faint-worthy include Johnny Depp (saw him in Crybaby), Morten Harket (used a picture from a German mag on my new class folder on Friday, my classmates declared him ugly; a-ha was on TV that Saturday so by Monday they were all drooling over him), Robert Urich back when his character in SWAT was considered unattractive on account of being “too serious”.
The Bestest Boyfriend had what we call “moorish eyes”, which is a polite way of saying he always looked like he’d been in a fight, but at least he was big enough to look like he’d won it. I was laughing my ass off when Benicio del Toro and Javier Bardem became fashionable
You know - I almost added a comment for her that she is thought of as beautiful, but doesn’t seem to make those lists. But since I only know about the lists based on a headline I might read, I could be wrong and she’s in all of them.
I’ve had a crush on Michael Shannon since watching him in Boardwalk Empire when we used to call his character “Agent Blockhead”. He’s big and menacing and odd looking and damn if he doesn’t make my heart go pitter patter.
I don’t know if Rami Malek is making any sexiest lists, despite the popularity of *Mr Robot.*I don’t like the show nor his character but he’s got a little sump’n sump’n going on.
Joan Cusack, perpetually typecast as the best friend/sister/schoolmarm. Addams Family Values was the only movie I’ve seen to recognise the hotness, not just the quirkiness.
I get the appeal - he’s handsome, articulate, conflicted - but I am always waiting for his eyes to blow out of his head - they always appear to be bugging out and *just *on the verge. One too many cups of coffee and blammo!
I had never thought of him much one way or the other, until I saw him on Lip Sync Battle, of all things. I think he did Rapper’s Delight or something else really fast paced with a million words, and killed it. He was just so surprisingly goofy and into it, that it was not only adorable, but kind of hot. I’ve been a fangirl ever since.
