People you were surprised to find out are dead

Whoah, Paul Tsongas, really? He was the only presidential candidate I’ve ever met. Voted for him, too.

Just cuz it’s bugging me, and though I’m fully aware that the offending posts are three years old, “Sarah Jane from Doctor Who” was Elisabeth Sladen. Her death in 2011 at the age of 65 came as a shock because she had told almost no one about her cancer; the public did not find out until her death was announced.

Francisco Franco

Still?

Robert Palmer was alive and well in my mind until this thread. :frowning:

I think there was also the factor that her career had revived. She had first become well known during the seventies on Doctor Who. But her fame had faded away. Then they brought her back for a guest appearance on the new Doctor Who series and her appearance was so popular, they started a spin-off series for her. Sladen died while the fifth season of that show was in production.

I was looking up when a new season of Aloha Vet would start on Nat Geo, and was saddened to read that the vet, Dr. Scott Sims, passed away recently from cancer. Never thought Dr. Pol would outlive him.

You are correct, my bad. Though he was only their live singer and the group broke up soon after.
