Under what conceivable definition of the word “slander” is drinking a Pepsi while wearing a Coca-Cola uniform or indeed working for Coca-Cola slanderous?
Who the hell was this tattletale anyway. What kind of person would see this and think to rat this guy out anyway. This is all very strange. I feel bad for that dude. I feel even worse for him since he actually likes Pepsi :).
More than likely there was some reward. Why someone would go out of their way otherwise would be just creepy.
Honestly! I don’t mean to start a cola war, cause I’m sure there have been many on the board, but is there even a contest?
This is all really weird…reminds me of a story I read (that may or may not be true) that Britney Spears was in serious, contract-negating hot water for drinking a Coke when Pepsi was her tour sponsor. Apparently someone photographed her with the evidence in hand. 
Poor girl. Pepsi sucks.
As per the OP, I don’t get it at all; was he fired for organizing, or fired for drinking a Coke? Do they really make you sign something that says you’ll never drink anything but Pepsi on company time? What if you go to a company function and mistakenly say, “Can I get a rum and Coke?”

What I don’t understand is what these ads are trying to accomplish? It think it’s safe to say that the large majority of people have tried both pepsi and coke. Most people have a preference and it has to do with the taste, not ads.
I’m not going to drink Pepsi just because some TV ad tells me that more people prefer it. And vice versa.
Besides, I generally don’t like cola and will only drink it with rum.
Does anyone drink Rum and Pepsi?

But seriously, that it a little absurd if he actually did get fired for drinkink another soda. That’s hardly slander. That would be like getting fired from your job at Staples because you shopped just once at Office Max.
I worked in a Coca Cola bottling plant when I was in high school. We used to bring empty Pepsi cans into work and throw them in the garbage can in the break room. This would drive the bottling room foreman crazy. He would spend a couple hours trying to find out who drank Pepsi on Coca Cola property.
Coke/Pepsi aren’t the only companies like that. I’m told that employees of the Px grocery store chain are not allowed to shop at the W D*** grocery store chain, and vice versa, on pain of loss of employment…or pain of pain…or something…
