I recently bought a brand new Logitec Wave Key Board and unfortunately spilled a coke all over the key board. Needless to say, a bunch of the keys either stick or are gunked up with the “pause that refreshes”. Before I go performing exploratory surgery on the individual keys, I am trying to find out if they are designed to be popped up off the keyboard so I can get in their with some rubbing alcohol and do a deep cleaning. Are the keys designed to be popped off?
There are many who say that putting your keyboard through a dishwasher will work if you do it the right way:

Haven’t tried it myself
Have you popped a key off before and put it back on? If you haven’t, try it on an old keyboard first because it can be very frustrating.
Looks like a normal removable-key keyboard to me.
Before you go doing anything fancy try just soaking it in alcohol for a few hours. Let it dry for a few days and you should be fine. I don’t reccomend the dishwasher but if you do you will want to avoid any “speed dry” feature that may result in a melted keyboard.
If you don’t have a shallow tray large enough you can improvise with aluminum foil.
To pop off a key, try bending a small hook in the end of a straightened paper clip, then hook under the key and pull. A jumbo paper clip works well.
At least that’s the way we used to do it, before keyboards were as reliable as today.
But not before the Coke Toss was invented.
Try a seldom used key. I’ve never pressed F11 consciously (or sober) in my life. Apologies to all those F11 mavens out there.
If you can pop it on and off; rinse, lather, repeat.
Does the keyboard even work after the spill? That’s usually fatal.
I wouldn’t advise soaking it in alcohol as it will disolve any glues or resins which may have been used in the keyboards construction.
If it were my keyboard I would wash it with soapy water (make sure it is not connected first), then make sure it is thoroughly dry before re-connecting it.
It worked for me after my GF spilled beer over my two day old keyboard.
I have done the dishwasher thing and it worked like a charm. I hadn’t spilled anything on my keyboard. It just had dirty, gunky keys.
Run the keyboard by itself (duh) without any dishwasher detergent. Don’t use the dry cycle, if your dishwasher has one. Let it air dry for several days before reconnecting it. I think I let mine dry for four days.
I have mixed success popping keys off. I’ve done it about a dozen times on my laptop and have wounded one of the lesser keys doing so. I would flush it with water first if most of the keys are gunked up. You’ll have to wash the area individually anyway.
F11 is the standard Windows shortcut for expanding the current window to full screen. Very useful if you’re watching the media player, for example.
The key you want to experiment with is the Scroll Lock key, since that has absolutely no use for any application anywhere in the universe. The Pause/Break key right next door is almost as disused. There’s probably some application somewhere that uses it, but I don’t know what it is.
I found most keys except for the space bar can be easily popped off and put back. Sometimes the shift and other “long” keys cause issues.
Was it a regular pepsi or diet. Sugar and the like are hard on keyboards and are very sticky. Diet pop…Well not so much.
You don’t soak it in alcohol, you apply alcohol with a Q-Tip. If the keyboard is ruined you got nothing to lose anyway right?
I would say as it’s a wireless keyboard it’ll be harder to save as the sensors may have also been corrupted.
