Interesting that it would be the three that shade into violet, as I don’t generally care much for purple/violet in of itself. But I like both cooler and darker colors in general.
B1 is actually almost as good as B3, as the pale blue blends pleasingly enough with the dark blue. But the transition is more seamless in B3. B2 sucks.
R1 is the only acceptable red. R2 looks broken and R3 is too yellow/bright.
G1 has the roughest transition, but again the darker violet makes it easier on the eyes than G2 and G3, which are too pale/bright.
Obviosly, I tend to dislike yellows the most.

My choices are based on which blends I prefered
I think it is because I am colourblind that G2 and B3 didn’t seem to be blends at all. G2 is completely yellow, B3 (unless I concentrate) appears totally blue

I don’t know if being on a diagonal influened it, but they seem most natural to me for some reason. Others I can clearly see lines or grains within the blend much more prominatley.
Thanks for all the replies folks; I probably have enough data now to ne able to see the general trend (it is still a small sample, of course, but this isn’t supposed to be hard science).
I created this test as a spin-off of this thread in GQ, which pretty much explains what I’m trying to find out.
This test is somewhat flawed though (particularly in the way I asked the question), so I’ll be back with something a little more rigorous later.
