When I was growing up, Lifebuoy soap was one of the big advertisers on radio. The ads used to claim that Lifebuoy did away with bad body odor or, as they called it, B.O. It occurred to me that Barack Obama’s initials are B.O. Wouldn’t an ideal bumper sticker for the Republicans be “B.O. Stinks”?
Or has this already been suggested?
That certainly hits on the subtle brilliance of the GOP marketing machine.
If you leave out the H in BHO, though, people might forget he’s one of THEM.

The childishness of a slogan like that would probably turn off independents. They can’t risk that.

Remember the FOX News conservative “answer” to the Daily Show, the tremendously unfunny one that survived for a couple of weeks before being laughed off the air? Their entire first episode was dedicated to the “B.O.” joke.
Not funny.
Turning off independents doesn’t seem to have been much of a concern for Republicans lately. Though I did read an op-ed piece by Karl Rove in the Wall St. Journal this week that advised Republicans to forego nastiness, leaving that to the Obama attack machine. :dubious:
The B.O. slogan apart from childishness would probably strike someone as racist and there’d be unpleasant fallout from that.
Rest assured, there’ll be plenty of stupid sloganeering to look forward to.
