Permanency of tattoos on callus?

Are tattoos permanent on areas of your body where skin is continually sloughing away? For example, I have calluses on the bottoms of my feet and sides of my big toes. Were I to get a tatt in one of those areas, how permanent would it be? I know that in any area they eventually fade due to getting sun, etc, but how much of that is due to the changing of skin cells?

It should be just as permanent. A tattoo isn’t actually on the outer layer of skin, which is perpetually being shed. Instead it’s on the dermis, beneath that layer. I’m not sure how a tattoo on a very callused area would look, and it might be somewhat harder for the needle to get through to the dermis if you have thick calluses, but you can’t shed a tattoo that way.
