Inexplicably, police said, airline employees gave her the two boxes that were marked “HUMAN TISSUE.” The woman, apparently thinking she had received the correct packages, left the airport with them.
Hours later, the airline received a concerned call from a courier company, inquiring about the whereabouts of the human organs. … Noticing that two other packages had never been picked up, agents had a police dog sniff the packages and found marijuana inside.
The article says that the organs were recovered but could not be used. The people waiting for the transplants will get other organs, but I guess that makes the other people on the waiting list wait a little longer.
