Wow! For those who have been following this case, the news is good to hear. Maybe Trenton really will be found alive? If he is alive, I suspect he might be in another country right now. I hope if he is alive he’s well. If he isn’t alive, I hope the find who (if anyone) helped in his murder and bring them to justice.
This is such a strange case. It almost seems too much to hope they’ll find that child alive.
bump This is startling news, isn’t anyone else interested in commenting about it? It might actually be true, Trenton might not have died the night he disappeared, and he might possibly be alive. (I don’t know what to think, if he’s alive or not. I am keeping my eyes on the news, and trying to hope.)
I’ve been following it. It’s almost in my backyard (same county.) I knew the first instant I saw Melinda Duckett on TV that something was off. She looked too damn calm for a woman whose toddler was missing. Hell, Susan Smith put on a better show! Then, when she killed herself, I thought “What mother kills herself without knowing if her child is okay?”
I also saw a brief mention that Melinda may have been schizophrenic. Apparently her postings on her blog rhymed unintentionally. Some talking head called that “clanging” and said it was a symptom of schizophrenia. I haven’t heard anything more about that.
Read the links I put up in the OP. Some hold the opinion that she was psychopathic. I lost a lot of hope when I read that she threw out Trenton’s toys, and his sonogram picture.
Er, note: Crimeblog.US is a lot less Melinda Duckett sympathetic. Websleuths generally thinks she was a criminal, but a few loudmouths proclaim her innoncence and get the attention, though that is lessened a lot lately.
Yeah, I thought when she killed herself that Trenton was dead, and she knew it.
What’s this about her parents suing Nancy Grace and her ex-husband? (sorry, he looks like a loser too, although I hope he gets his boy back) I thought her grandparents raised her. Are her parents just hoping to make a quick buck?
They are alleging that Nancy Grace pushed her over the edge, and “caused” her death. (Though it is noted on Crimeblog and I think also Websleuths that it wasn’t the last interveiw she gave.)
From here.
This entry is pretty level headed about the interveiw.
I meant to ask, do you have any local links to the things relating to this case? She allegedly embezzled ten thousand dollars from Bank of America?
These are from the Orlando Sentinel

But it seems you know more than I do? She worked at BoA?
I know what I’ve been reading since first learning of Trenton’s disappearnce. It’s mentioned in passing here. I read it on the Nancy Grace transcript of the show where she gave coverage to Trenton’s vanishing after Melinda’s death. She mentions it in passing, as if everyone knows of it. It is touched on in the comments of the first blog link in my previous post. Read the entries for more info on this case. Melinda was a real piece of work. She was trying to set up her husband to take a fall. She tried to frame him for sending threatening e-mails, but got busted hardcore.
Here = the first link in my post number 8. :o I meant to correct that and referance my previous post, but missed it on my shabby proofreading. (I initially thought it was talked about in a different entry, to be fair to myself.)
I heard she hacked into her husband’s email so she could send threatening e-mails to herself and fool the court into giving her custody.
And I see you referred to that very fact in your post. :smack:
