Personal Ads: "Partner in Crime"

Partners in crime are up for anything

Hold my beer and watch this!

Follow me it’s an easy walk down the trail.

Well, we’ve tried, and we all seem to agree, and you just keep arguing with us. Why is that?

Don’t know. You’re a pretty argumentative bunch. Take @CairoCarol --I say “all similes are metaphors” and she comes back with a link that asserts exactly that point, so I say that I agree with her link, and she asks me to “at least click on my links,” and then proceeds to quote the part that supports what I told her in the first place. And I’m argumentative?

Pretty good. So this is what my personal ad says as of now:

“Do you want to walk with me down the trail of life, making memories along the way? Can you make me laugh, and are you sensitive to my needs, as I am sensitive to yours? Do you have an ear to lend, can you keep my secrets close? I love music, some types more than others, of course, and I’m equally comfortable dressing way up or just kicking back in a t-shirt and shorts. Most of all, I want someone who wants love, and who knows what to do with it. Are you my partner in crime?”

Have I said anything? Tell me please, and I’ll edit it right out. This is just [GENERIC CONTENT-FREE PERSONAL AD] with some verbosity tossed in. You know absolutely nothing about the person who wrote it.

What the fuck do you want my ear for, creep?

Did you guys not read this?

This. I have used the phrase “looking for my ride or die.” I am not looking for someone to ride with, or to die. I’m looking for that person I can hang out with and count on in the good or bad situations. Y’all need to get out more.

Oh yes. And drew the same inference I think you did as well.

I disagree. You know a lot about the person who wrote it. That person thinks that bumper sticker philosophy is profound. That person thinks that cliches are meaningful. That person has little in the way of a real personality, and is waiting to be told by others what to like and what not to like.
In short, you know that person is not someone you want to respond to. Lots of others, might find that person to be a good match. What is your true gripe here? That there are dumb people and sometimes they write things that they think are meaningful but turn you off? Ok. So noted. Presumably, the message at least sometimes result in those people meeting someone who also finds the post meaningful.

Chances are, the person they meet wrote, “Live, Love, Laugh!” and “Dance like nobody is watching!” in their dating profile.

Shoulda worked “Age is just a number” in there, too.

So is IQ!

<<<<<<<SWIPE!!!

Reminds me too much of this guy…

We can explain it to you. But we can’t comprehend it for you.

You’re still overthinking it. It’s a common phrase that’s rarely actually used about illegal acts.

Stop reading personals so closely. You’re reading A LOT into them. You’ve probably rejected some wonderful people over some extremely trivial stuff.

And how unfortunate for them.
