Peso's

My buddy went to Mexico, and was pissed because he had to tip a cabbie 60 peso’s…

Okay, good to know.

That’s like three dollars. Your buddy is a cheapskate.

Actually, it’s more like three dollar’s.

Not three-fiddy?

Three dollar’s whaaaaaat?

I think he was being Czarcastic.

(I was going to ask Peso’s what. :stuck_out_tongue: )

Moderator, please remove the apostrophe from the thread title, to at least narrow it down to a plural.

Yeah. $3.16 as of this morning (6/14).

Well, at least the post’s mundane.

Wow, great story that has it all: pathos, humanity, conflict, terror and ultimate resolution. You should write a book or perhap’s several book’s.

Apostrophes on sale. 3 for $1, or 9 for 60 pesos.

Apostrophe’s.

Your “buddy” is a sack of crap.

So many questions! Where in Mexico? Did the cab have the official “Taxi” license plates? Was the cabdriver multi-lingual? Why did he “have to” tip 60 pesos?

Tipping in Mexico can be difficult. Take restaurants, here in the US you are brought your bill, you hand over your credit card, they take it away, and then you write in the tip. In Mexico, you have to write in the tip before they take your card away.

Is your buddy complaining about the misplaced apostrophe? Or the extra period?

Where I live in Mėxico, taxi drivers are only tipped if they provide an extra service. Help with purchases, etc.

I realize that in tourist zones, it is a different world. A driver should be paid more. They have to put up with drunks.

You have to admit, the OP is certainly taking the name of the forum seriously.

Before I went to the Czech Republic, I went to the bank & took out $500. When the teller asked if I wanted it in any specific denominations I said I didn’t care because, “Tomorrow I’m converting it to Koruna’s.” (CZK is their currency.)

She responded, “Oh, you’re going to Mexico.” :smack:

Who is Koruna and what of his/hers were you converting it to?
