My question is simple, but I’m guessing no one will know it. However, I have the best shot at the Straight Dope here.
Was the song “Suburbia” used as the theme music on a television show in the US in the 1980’s, or any other television show at any time? I’m vaguely remembering one of the innumerable medical-related shows using an instrumental theme that was very much like it.

The only thing I can find that is remotely close to what you are looking for is a television show called “The Clothes Show” which used a completely different Pet Shop Boys song, was about clothes, and was British.
So, really, not even close.
